From Alessandro Massobrio review 2006: “Incastrodi Mondi is a short performance in which three instrumentalists Mario Garuti, Grazia Mari and Luca Bossi (respectively at the violin, low clarinet and transverse flute) improvise controlled via gamepad by Tommaso Perego. An electro-acoustic session with a high-performance level and with a delightful visual impact”.
Incastro di Mondi is a work that draws from the previous experiences of Les Jeux Sont Faits and from my collaborations with Luca Rampinini (between 2001-2005), when we were experimenting with acoustic instrument live improvisation, electronics, and sensor/game devices.
It is a graphic score, in which performers improvise following specific guidelines, that rule the type of sonic event they need to produce, in particular just the length and shape of the incisi leaving to the performers other choices, such as pitch, time etc.
After a period of rehearsal and experimentation, we participated in 2006 in Rome at the iXem Festival for Experimental Music, winning the First Prize. The original Ensemble consisted of Luca Bossi (Flute), Grazia Mari (Bass Clarinet), Mario Garuti (Violin). Later on, I presented the work at the 2007 Plymouth Expo, with Eloisa Manera replacing Mario Garuti, and finally at the International Computer Music Conference 2007, when it was performed by the Plexus Ensemble.
In 2007 I have also been to perform Incastro at the Seoul International Computer Music Festival, SICMF. Here some pictures from the general rehearsals.
Some excerpts from the scores have been published on Notation21, a graphic score anthology curated by Theresa Sauer, New York 2011.
