From Guido Barbieri review 2005 (translation Melinda Mele): “As the speed of the swirling motion increases, the “battery” of the electrical sounds charges and releases the accumulated kinetic energy. And now the experience of condensation acquires a precise visual dimension, positioning along the spatial […] … the conclusion is brutal, unexpected, deliberately anti-rhetorical”.
Les Jeux Sont Faits has been created working on a violin and interactive software (using Max MSP), in particular instrument attack and spectrum variations, and used them to then feed delay lines, sampling, and effects
I have recorded a version with Eloisa Manera on violin, which has been included in Cemat’s Punti D’Ascolto Anthology , 2005 .
Other performers have worked on the score, in the several performances. Kary Ann Dranguet in Havana Cuba in 2006, Jessica Deutsch in Vancouver 2006 at the Signal&Noise Festival 2006, Viktoria Horti at New York’s ICMC in 2010, and Elosia Manera at Hochschule Basel, and in Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi Milan (2006).
A lecture on the interactivity of the score has been given by composer/researcher Angela Veomett at Oberlin Conservatory, Timara Department, Ohio USA in 2007.
Last performance of the piece was at International Computer Music Conference ICMC 2010, Stony Brook University, New York.
Here is a video (low resolution) of Kary Ann Dranguet playing the piece in Habana Vieja Catedral de San Cristobal: Les jeux sont faits_KaryAnn_Cuba2006
